Ontario and Quebec Provincial Championships Crown New Champions
Our provincial championships in both Ontario and Quebec with good weather at both venues and an encouraging turn out.
The Ontario championships in Fenelon Falls held February 1st 2020 had a record turnout of 94 participants. The best turnout in the four years of the event.
The weather on the day was perfect and all participants had enjoyable time.
In spite of a timing failure we were able to produce results and declare a new set of Champions.
In the 10k Bernie Hogan of Bancroft and Susan Moote of Portland Oregon are the new Ontario Champions.
In the 5k Andrew James and Karen Gervais were the top male and female winners.

The Quebec championship took place as part of the annual Gatineau Loppet on February 16th in Gatineau Quebec. This famous loppet added snowshoe to their menu of races a few years ago and we have been please to work them to produce their events.
The 10k champions were: Pierre-Luc Belanger-Meloncon of Orleans Ontario and Lynda Gingras of Ottawa.
Our new 5k champions were: Marie- Pier Lachance of Gatineau Quebec and Crwys Harris of Orleans Ontario will have their names on the annual trophy.
Special kudos to Marie-Pier for being the first overall winner of the event in addition to being first female.
